FAQs
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
It’s pretty simple! Just come on down to Ambleside Brewing and choose a beer or wine (that may be the hardest part). We get that started for you. By law, you will be required to start the fermentation process, what we call “pitching the yeast”. This activates the production of alcohol.
After a few weeks, you’ll get a call from Blair or Ji to let you know your beer or wine is ready to be bottled.
DO I NEED BOTTLES?
If you can collect bottles, the more savings for you. You just need to make sure they’re clean and labels have been removed or defaced with a dark coloured marker (this is also required by law).
If you don’t want to go that route, you can buy new or used bottles from us. Just let us know at the time of your order.
HOW CLEAN DO MY BOTTLES NEED TO BE?
Your bottles are going to need to be sanitized. This is a super crucial step in ensuring your beer or wine will keep nicely. We provide everything you need to get your bottles ready for bottling.
WHAT ABOUT CORKS AND CAPS AND SUCH?
The price of the beer or wine includes the caps, corks, labels, and shrinks that you may need.
Please, don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions that weren’t addressed here.

Hi there,
The price listed would fill about how many bottles?
Do you have extra empty bottles in store?
Thank you.
48 litres will fill approximately 144 domestic beer bottles (355mL). Or 96 – 500mL bottles, 74 – 650 mL bottles, or 48 1L bottles. We have various bottles available for purchase in the shop. Lots of EZ-Cap (Grolsch and Fischer-style) which range from 450 – 660 mL. Some new and used 1L EZ-cap bottles. Plus brand new 500mL and 1L green PET bottles.
Hi Klaus. Don’t worry – I am sure your English is better than my German.
Presently we have nothing that you might be interested in. May have some buttons and coasters soon, but none of the other items.
Thanks for your interest. Prosit!
