Welcome to Ambleside Brewing

Ambleside Brewing Company, since 1995, is one of West Vancouver’s best kept secrets. One of the original brew on-site establishments, Ambleside Brewing Company was founded by the late great Bill Alderton, along with his wife, Anne. Bill was a chemical engineer/ pub owner from Britain, who was determined to make the best beer in the world. The evidence shows, from the two-inch thick recipe book we inherited, that Bill had spent countless hours developing clone recipes along with his own original brews, infusing them with his passion.

We, here at Ambleside, are continuing on that path with our own style, energy and passion. Our background began in craft, full-mash homebrewing and along with our passion for beer, we have a fine appreciation for wine.

We offer a great variety of wine and beers, clones and original Bill recipes for those who have their long-time favourites. Our Brew Guy and owner/operator, Blair, and his partner, have a few choice unique and delicious recipes of their own that have become great hits with a number of our clients. Also, for just $10.00 more, you can make any full-mash beer with ORGANIC BARLEY MALT. In the near future, we hope to bring in ORGANIC HOPS. One may not always be able to distinguish the flavour between an organic or non-organic beer, but we believe in sustainability, helping the environment, and responsible farming to keep our eco-systems and Earth healthy. This choice is one of conscience and health. We also do our best to reduce, re-use, and recycle in our daily lives which extends to the operation of our shop.

In Vancouver, we are one of the few brew on-site establishments to proudly offer full-mash beers, the way beer was meant to be made and we hope you’ll join us in our campaign for real, flavourful beer.
